Purchasing Power Calculator
Inflation means prices generally rise over time, so the same amount of money may buy less in the future. This calculator uses an assumed constant annual inflation rate to estimate the future equivalent cost and the future purchasing power of an amount. It does not fetch official CPI data automatically.

How this purchasing power calculator works
Estimate how inflation changes the future purchasing power of money and how much money may be needed to match today’s buying power.
Future equivalent cost = amount today × (1 + inflation rate)years. Future purchasing power in today’s money = amount today ÷ (1 + inflation rate)years.
Formula and assumptions
The calculation uses the values you enter and assumes the stated rate stays constant for the selected period. Actual account results can differ because of rate changes, timing, fees, taxes, rounding, deposits, withdrawals, or provider-specific rules.
For a data-based US inflation comparison, consult the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics CPI Inflation Calculator. This tool uses your assumed rate rather than official CPI observations.
